This is the winning photograph i entered in the Travel section of the 2011 Monster Children Photo Annual.
The photo was taken after a 5 hour ride down from Quito to Baños in Ecuador late last year. Arriving late in the afternoon at the La Piscina de La Virgen,
I took the photograph as the pools were packing out. The colour is supposedly from the minerals in the water and the three pools are all different temperatures with the last one getting up to 48°C and there is also a wicked waterfall you can wash down in with all the locals after.
